Starting Blah Monster
I spent a decade working inside other people's studios. Good ones. The kind of places where you get to ship real work for real people. But the longer I stayed, the more I felt the pull to make smaller things, faster, on my own terms.
Blah Monster is the result. One person. Long Island. Illustration and software, which is a strange combination on paper but feels natural in practice.
The name came before everything else. I drew a grumpy little monster on a napkin and called him Blah. He stuck around. Eventually I figured I might as well name the studio after him.
